RS PRO Standard In-Line High-Temperature Thermocouple Socket Connectors
From RS PRO a standard in-line high-temperature thermocouple socket connector that accepts solid round, polarized pins to ensure an accurate connection. The housing of this female socket is made from high strength thermoset plastic enabling it to withstand temperatures of up to 425°C. This standard size thermocouple socket is ideal for connecting your thermocouple probe or wire terminals to extension or compensating cables. This socket also provides a quick, safe and error-free way of replacing your existing thermocouples.
What is a Thermocouple Connector?
Thermocouple connectors are an accurate and convenient way of interconnecting your temperature sensing components. Using these connectors allows a chain to be formed from the measuring tip of your temperature sensor to the host computer or meter. It is important that all the components in the chain are made from the same thermocouple material to prevent any alteration or distortion of the original signal. To achieve this, thermocouple connectors have pins or terminals made from the same material as the thermocouple they are being used to connect or a compensating material. The connector housing has the thermocouple type clearly printed on it and is also colour coded to allow easy identification. The connector is opened up and the thermocouple wires are simply screwed down into place using two captive screw clamps. The thermocouple socket connector can then be mated with a thermocouple plug connector.
Features and Benefits
Contacts made from true thermocouple alloys or compensating material for accurate signal transmission
High strength, heavy duty thermoset plastic housing
Can withstand temperatures of up to 425°C.
Brown colour code for quick and easy identification
Accepts solid round polarised pin contacts for an accurate connection
For use with stranded or solid wires
Simple captive screw clamp connection for quick assembly
Polarity and thermocouple type clearly marked on the housing
Applications
These standard connectors are used in industrial applications where thermocouples are installed, extended or replaced. Their robust construction and ability to withstand very high temperature ranges make these thermocouple connectors ideal for use even in the most demanding temperature measurement applications.
