Belden Individually Shielded Twisted Pair Cables (87XX Series)

Guard against troublesome electromagnetic interference in your cables with the individually shielded twisted pair 87XX series cables from Belden. These shielded cables also defend against crosstalk from neighbouring pairs, giving you a more reliable signal transmission.

Versions featuring the PVC jacket offer excellent durability against water, oils and chemicals, while the flame-retardant LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket cables are ideal for enclosed or populated areas. They use tinned copper conductors for high conductivity.

Features and Benefits:

• 100% coverage due to Beldfoil (Z-Fold) shielding technology, which is lightweight, strong, and flexible
• Flame test UL1685 UL loading
• Tinned copper drain wire ensures easy grounding, removing unwanted electrical noise
• Polypropylene (PP) insulation

Belden is a globally trusted brand with over 100 years of experience in designing high-performance networking, connectivity and cabling solutions. Their products are tested to strict quality standards, making them a safe and long-lasting choice for any application.

Applications:

Power & High voltage
Industrial
Transit
Signal & Data
Communication

Why is shielding used in cables?

Cables which are screened, or shielded, are better protected again electromagnetic interference (EMI) than unshielded versions. EMI refers to electrical noise which is conducted or radiated, and it can negatively affect the functioning of devices and equipment. Screening reduces crosstalk between cables (signal leakage), ensuring higher signal integrity.

What is Beldfoil?

Beldfoil is an aluminium/polyester foil which is used to shield Belden cables. This innovative patented design is highly effective for providing electrostatic shielding, strength, and extra insulation. It is perfectly suited for audio, communication, and data cabling. The Z-foil shield uses a shorting fold and an isolation fold which minimises signal radiation and defends against external interference.

Standards:

UL2919; NEC CM (IEC for 332-3C)
