TC649 Fan Controller

The Microchip TC649 is a Switch Mode Fan Speed Controller designed for use with Brushless DC Fans. From an external Thermistor (or other voltage output sensor) the TC649 provides temperature proportional fan speed control via PWM.

Featured is a user programmable minimum temperature setting. This allows the TC649 to be customised with a minimum temperature threshold, beneath which the fan will be shut-down. Integrated is a Start-Up Timer for reliable motor start-up.

The device also utilises Microchip’s FanSense™ technology for monitoring fan performance. If a fan reliability issue is detected the TC649 will trigger an alert via the FAULT pin.
