USB224x USB 2.0 Multi Format SD/MMC & MS Flash Media Controllers
The USB224x family of devices from Microchip are high-speed USB 2.0 flash media card controllers that provide an ultra-fast interface between a host USB controller and popular flash media cards. Offered is the flexibility to choose independent or simultaneous access to a wide selection of flash media readers. These devices provide secure memory format options via internal memory and are capable of high-performance throughput with new formats such as Memory Stick PRO-HG.
USB224x devices integrate a USB 2.0 device transceiver, a fast 8051 microprocessor and Memory Stick™ (MS), Smart Media™ (SM) and Secure Digital (SD) controllers in a single chip. These ICs are well-suited for performance-intensive Microsoft® Windows Vista® applications such as ReadyBoost™.
