This family of slotted optical switches, from Optek Technology, are designed to be mounted onto a PCB.
The OPB610 and OPB620 consist of an IR LED and an NPN silicon phototransistor. They have an enhanced low current roll-off which improves the contrast ratio and Block out ambient light.
The OPB611 and OPB621 consist of an IR LED and a PIN photodiode. Their plastic housing is opaque to visible light but transmissive to IR light. The PIN photodiode within these slotted optical switches is Ideal for use in high-speed operation.
Suitable applications for the slotted optical switches include; non-contact reflective object sensors, assembly line automation, machine automation, machine safety and door sensors.
