RS Pro Shielded Ethernet Cat6a Cable
Brought to you by RS Pro, A well built and durable Cat6a cable suitable for home, office and industrial networks requiring a reliable internet connection. These cables are LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) ensuring health and safety standards are met in the even of it being near a high heat source. Being Cat6a, these shielded ethernet cables have a copper conductor and are suitable for 10 gigabit per second networks and will provide a frequency of up to 500 MHz, both at 100 m.
Features and Benefits
4 Pair multi construction
Bare copper conductor
Cat6a performs at better lengths than a cat6
Skin foam skin insulation
Both 100 m and 500 m shielded cables available
Do these cables come with a connector?
These particular RS Pro cables are unterminated at both ends (bare copper), meaning a connector will need to be attached. RJ45 are the standard connector used with these types of cat6a shielded cables. Meaning once an RJ45 connector is attached, installation to an ethernet network can occur.
Why Cat6a?
Cat6a has a reputation for delivering excellent speeds and frequencies at long lengths. A cat6 on average would put out 250 MHz at 100 m and 10 gb/s at around 45 m. The cat6a version will more double the length for the network speed 10 gigbits per second at 100 m and also double the frequency (500 MHz at 100m). If it's a big space you need for an ethernet connection, then a cat6a cable is a perfect choice.
What is a Cat6a Cable?
A Cat6a cable or Category 6a cables are an high speed type of ethernet cable or patch cable as they're also known. They are used as a commonly within various types of industries and workplaces, including offices and warehouses requiring a network connection. Anywhere which has an internet connection, it's almost a guarantee you'll find one of these network cables.
What is UTP?
UTP (unshielded twisted pair) is a certain type of wiring design in which 2 conductors are crossed with each other inside the cabling. This will greatly improve the electromagnetic capability of the cable securing a highly reliable network connection.
Standards
ISO/IEC 11801:2011, IEC61156-5:2009, IEC60332-1, IEC61034, IEC60754
