Heat Shrinkable Fabric Tubing (HFT)
The HFT5000 Series of heat shrinkable fabric has been designed for use by providing cable protection, insulation, as well as environmental sealing and strain relief across a number of different applications such as:
Aerospace and Defence
Automotive Industry
Industrial and Commercial Industry
Maintenance and Repair (MRO)
Marine Industry
Rail Industry
This heat shrinkable tubing is woven from polyethylene/ polyester materials which offer excellent abrasion resistance for rubber, plastic pipes and harness wiring bundles. The woven fabric offers flexibility and is easy to install onto irregular surfaces, as well as having the ability to provide water, heat and humidity resistance.
Features and Benefits
Ideal for using on irregular surfaces without additional fixing
Very flexible and easy to use
Heat shrink ratio of 2:1 meaning when heated this tubing shrinks to half of its original diameter
Low heat shrink temperature for safe installation onto heat sensitive surfaces
Excellent abrasion resistance
Ideal for use in demanding and challenging environments
Easy to cut with industrial cutting equipment
Operating temperature of -40 to + 125 °C
Standard black in colour
What does a heat shrink ratio of 2:1 mean?
A ratio of 2:1 means when the tube is heated it shrinks to half of its original diameter
How can I shrink the tubing?
A heat gun or a heat shrink oven are ideal ways to shrink your tubing. Before heating always check to ensure you know the correct heating temperature of your tubing.
Remember to ensure all health and safety precautions have been taken prior to using a heating devise.
